A non governmental organization, Helen Memorial Foundation, HMF, has joined the global community in commemorating the 2024 International Women’s Day with a commitment to “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”.
In a statement to mark the Day, the Foundation believes that this year’s theme underscores the critical importance of investing in women and girls as a catalyst for driving positive change and advancing sustainable development worldwide
“Through our programs, and initiatives, HMF shows dedication to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment across all sectors.
“This year’s theme, underscores the critical importance of investing in women and girls as a catalyst for driving positive change and advancing sustainable development worldwide. Through our programs, and initiatives, HMF shows dedication to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment across all sectors.
“This year, HMF is reaffirming this commitment through the implementation of an Innovative Woman Training; an initiative aimed at empowering women with relevant skills aimed at empowering women to thrive in the modern world of endless digital opportunities.
“We believe that the rise of digital technology has transformed the landscape of employment, opening up new opportunities for freelance and remote work, bridging the gender divide in the workplace, giving more women a shot at career opportunities.
“Recognizing the barriers women face in accessing traditional employment opportunities due to caregiving responsibilities, geographic constraints, or societal norms, this project will be implemented in March as Women’s Month; building the capacity of womenmother such as stay at home mothers, unemployed women and those interested in an extra source of income with relevant skills needed to access remote jobs, setting themselves up for career growth.
“We believe that by investing in women, we can: get over 50% of the world’s population from a disadvantaged position to a level where they are not only able to build themselves, but their society at large.
The project consists of training, mentorship, and community engagement seeks to:
• Increase participation of women in the workforce through remote employment.
• Enhance skills and confidence among women to succeed in remote jobs.
• Improve economic outcomes for women, including higher income levels and financial stability.
• Create awareness and acceptance of remote work as a viable option for women’s empowerment and economic advancement.
HMF as a female-led organization committed to supporting women and women focused initiatives, towards an equitable, secured, and inclusive society with Zero Poverty and No Hunger.
On this day of the International Women’s Day 2024, we wish all women well, and do not fail to salute the support of all female allies; individuals and organizations, our doors are always open to partnership and collaborations towards the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
