Rural Communities in the Twenty Three Local Government areas of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, have been reassured that they will be accorded priority in the developmental programs of the State Government.
The State Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sadiq Mamman Lagos gave the assurance while receiving the Executive members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, in office during a courtesy visit .
Alhaji Mamman Lagos said the Ministry of Local Government is working closely with the Chairmen of the Local Government Councils to map out strategies and details toward effective distribution and implementation of viable projects in each of the Local Government areas.
He expressed his support to the Union’s
demand for reinstatement of Thirty Thousand Naira minimum wage for Local Government workers in the State, and advised the Union to make formal presentation to his office on the issue, assuring that Government will carry the workers along toward realization of Goveror Uba Sani seven-point agenda.
Earlier, the State President of NULGE, Comrade Rayanu Isyaku Turunku had appealed to the Commissioner to wade into the issue of Thirty Thousand Naira minimum wage, by ensuring that every employee of Local Government Councils is allowed to enjoy fully the new tminimum wage structure .
