ABU@60: Alumni President Encourages Members To Participate In Endowment Contributions

The newly elected National President Worldwide of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Alumni Association, Mallam Adamu Kontagora has encouraged the alumni to participate in the endowment contributions as the university celebrate Sixty years in existence.

He made the call in a press statement distributed to journalists in Abuja in respect of Sixty years anniversary of ABU Zaria.

Mallam Kontagora said the alumni are in partnership with ABU Zaria under the leadership of Vice Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala to ensure the success of the project as the university attained Six decades in existence.

Mallam Adamu Kontagora was confident with the leadership of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Mahmud Yayale Ahmed appointed as the Chairman of Board of Trustees with other illustrious alumni that they would deliver positively.

He appealed to the alumni not to relent in ensuring that they contribute towards the development of their alma mater.

Also in a letter to the Alumni, the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Professor Kabiru Bala explained that the Foundation is intended to give the university the much needed financial stability, flexibility and confidence to make capital improvements, build capacity in emerging academic areas as well as to cutting edge research and adapt to the changing needs of ABU Zaria.

Professor Bala explained that the Foundation has launched Annual Alumni and Friends Giving for the university and suggested that a minimum of twenty five thousand Naira for graduates of five years and above, while it is optional for graduates of less than five years to give what they desire.

” Iam, by this letter appealing, especially to you, our alumni and friends to contribute financially to the Annual Giving starting this year, 2023 and continually, thereafter, for sustainability employed by major universities the world over”. He said.
