Governor Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has restated the commitment of his administration to partner with any agency willing to assist the state government in solving the shortage of potable water in the State.
Gov. Yusuf disclosed this when he received the Country Director of French Development Agency (AFD) Mr. Xavier Muron, who visited him at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
The Governor said the visit was timely as water was a critical sector that would be given the needed attention by his government and would do everything possible to ensure all stakeholders in water resources were engaged in solving water problems in the state.
Spokesperson of the Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa in a statement noted that areas that were thoroughly discussed include; the AFD and World Bank co-founded project of Kano urban water sector reform, Rural and Access and Agricultural Market Project (RAAMP) that were all geared towards tackling Water shortage that has been disturbing Kano metropolis for long.
Earlier, AFD’s Country Director, Mr. Xavier Muron, said he visited the Governor to congratulate him on his election and discuss areas of collaboration and work together in many facets of human development.
