Nigeria: Fire Disaster Kills Nine, Destroys Properties Worth N6.7 Million In Kano

No fewer than nine lives were lost while properties Worth N6, 700, 500 were destroyed by fire disaster in Kano state in June, the State Fire Service has revealed.

Spokesperson for the Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, in a statement pointed out that the organization under the leadership of its Director, Alh. Hassan Ahmad Muhammad, the fire service received an emergency call from their twenty seven 27 fire stations across the State in the month of June.

He said, ” We received Twenty two (22) fire call, 18 rescue call and Four false alarm.

Estimated properties destroyed by fire is worth N6,700,500; estimated properties saved by our men from a different disaster is worth N17, 200, 000; Nine (9) lives where lost while the fire Service successfully saved 26 people from a different fire disaster, he added.

While calling on the public to abide by the traffic law to avoid road accident, Abdullahi also advised them to handle fire with care to avoid inferno.
