Nigeria: Rededicate Yourselves To Combating Smuggling For National Growth, Kanwan Katsina Tells Customs

Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service have been asked to rededicate themselves to combating smuggling and other criminal activities for national development.

Kanwan Katsina, District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara gave the charge when a team from the Public Relations unit of the Customs Headquarters, visited him in
his palace.

The team led by Superintendent of Customs, Abdullahi Mai Wada was in Katsina for an interview with Kanwan Katsina who retired from service some years ago as Comptroller, for a documentary.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara stressed the need for Nigeria customs to intensify efforts in revenue generation for government to reduce budget deficit for infrastructural development of the country.

The former customs Comptroller had once served as Public Relations Officer at Apapa and Tincan Island Ports Command in Lagos where he left indelible marks in the discharge of his duties .
He attributed his outstanding performance in that field to his early days in the Newsroom of Radio Nigeria Kaduna in nineteen seventy-five, before proceeding to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for further education.

Earlier, the team leader, Superintendant of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada explained that they were in Katsina to interview the Kanwan Katsina on his experience while in Customs and life after retirement.
