Accolades For Adamawa Lawmaker As 800 Constituents Receive Multi-million Naira Cash Empowerment

Member representing Verre Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji. Abdullahi Umar Yapak has been praised for his effort in fighting poverty in the constituency.
The lawmaker who channelled his constituency project of multi-million naira cash as support and part of his empowerment programme to about eight hundred people was seen as the right step in meeting their needs.
The Chairman, All Progressives Congress APC, in Fofure LGA, Mr James Beka and former member representing Verre Constituency Alhaji Halilu Domdaz commended Hon Yapak for the laudable initiative to rescue their people who crutches of poverty are holding them captive.
They appealed to those who have not benefited to exercise some patience, adding that the next phase would accommodate them in a sooner possible time.
Speaking during the presentation of the cash support to the beneficiary at the multi-purpose hall of the School of Nursing and Midwifery Yola, the lawmaker said the gesture was part of his contribution to the development of his constituency and to alleviate the suffering of his people
   He told the gathering that, the programme is among the promises he made to the electorate while seeking for another mandate during the twenty nineteen electioneering campaign and way of remembering his people and to say thank you for another mandate given to him to represent them.
  Abdullahi Yapak added that the empowerment programme which cut across all the political wards in Verre Constituency is aimed at complementing efforts of the state government in improving social welfare and creating job opportunities to teeming Youths, women and other small scale businessmen and women.
  The lawmaker also encouraged them to shift attention from white-collar jobs and embrace skill acquisition programmes that would help them in future and assured them of more dividends of democracy such as Construction of Toza bridge connecting Karlahi, Cigari and Yola,
   Yapak added that after a series of meetings with traditional rulers, Vigilante and Local hunters, he will provide motorcycles to local security outfits and equip Karlahi Empowerment centre to train Youths and women among other people-oriented programmes.
   He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Finitiri for granting the Constituency Project to members of the State Assembly to execute programmes to their Constituents through various ministries and agencies in the State, promising that, his people will continue feeling the impact of the projects.
   Also Speaking the Head of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency,  Hajiya Aisha Bawa Bello said the empowerment programme embarked by Abdullahi Umar Yapak is a welcome development considering the plight of Youths especially at the grassroots level.
   In their remarks, the Minority Leader Adamawa State House of Assembly Alhaji Muhammad Mutawalli and Alhaji Shaibu Babas of Fufore Gurin Constituency while commending Governor Ahmadu Umaru Finitiri for granting approval for the release of the Constituency Project fund, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the cash support given to them.
  Speaking while Presenting the cash, the Adamawa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress , APC Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal and his counterpart of African Democratic Congress ADC , Alhaji Yahya Hammanjulde said Yapak has proved to the people that, they have voted for a representative who put their interest above his own personal interest and urged other lawmakers to emulate him.
  In their separate remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Finitiri Alhaji Adamu Baba Mustapha and Bishop of Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria , Amos Yakubu, enjoined the people to continue their support for the lawmaker to enable him to succeed in changing the lives of the electorate.
   Some of the beneficiaries in their votes of thanks, commended Abdullahi Umar Yapak for his kind gesture, described him as a man of the people who uplift the lives of his constituents.
Among other beneficiaries, the aged and widows also went home with cash gifts.
