Nigeria Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) has said the 39 megawatt Dadin-kowa Hydro power concession project in Gombe State northeast of the country would be ready for commissioning by October 2018.
Director General of the Commission, Engr Chidi Izuwah disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Gombe shortly after inspecting the project at Dadin-kowa dam.
“This planned commissioning by October would improve power supply in the Northeast zone and we are here today to demonstrate that we will go above and beyond the call of duty to actualise power generation.
He explained that the power generation from Dadin-kowa power project will further boost supply from Kiri dam in Adamawa state
Engr. Izuwah said that the Dadin-kowa dam project has many benefits to the north east zone such as enhanced electricity supply and promotion of micro, small and medium enterprises in the northeast.
He said that the project would also create employment for citizens and reduce the rate of insecurity within the country, adding that “Public Private Partnership is no longer a strange concept in our society as most government now use same to grow their infrastructure stock”.
