Sultan of Sokoto and President General of Jamatul Nasir Islam (JNI), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has distributed relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), from Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Kaduna, Kano, Gombe and Bauchi States.
According to him, the relief materials which include 18, 000 (25kg) bags of rice and 250 edible vegetable oil was to cushion the sufferings of the IDPs.
He described the IDPS situation as pathetic, occasioned by activities of insurgents particularly the Boko Haram sect.
Sultan reiterated that the items were not to be sold by the beneficiaries, saying, it was meant to assist them in their trying moments.
He however emphasized that the relief materials will assist them, especially as the fasting period approached.
The rice and oil which was loaded in 15 trucks were distributed based on needs, taking note of states with highest number of victims.
Five trucks were sent to Maiduguri, two trucks to Adamawa, three trucks to Yobe while Kaduna Gombe, Bauchi and the JNI headquarters are to get one truck each.
Similarly, Jama’atul Nasril Islam JNI has warned Muslim preachers against provocative statements during the Ramadan lectures or Tafsir.
JNI Secretary General, Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu while Presenting a report of the 2014 Ramadan fasting in the Kaduna expressed regret over what he described as rise in cases of “uncharitable, excessive and indecorous utterances,” on the part of some preachers during Tafsir.
He said during 2014 Tafsir sessions, “some preachers delved into unnecessary juristic arguments which are categorically clear and in which there is consensus.
“There were also some scholars whose sessions were inciting, and the truth is that if such utterances were to come from non-Muslims, the story would have been different now.
“The most dangerous session of Tafsir which has surfaced recently in the public domain is the Shiite Tafsir which is being aired by some radio and television stations.
