By Joseph Edegbo

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has assured that the 614km Ajaokuta-Kaduna- Kano Gas Pipeline Project will be completed in the first quarter of 2023 as scheduled.

The Group Managing Director/ CEO, Mallam Mele Kyari gave the assurance when he took the NNPC Board Members on an official tour of Segment A sites in Abaji Area Council of the FCT, on Thursday.

The GMD who was accompanied by other members of his Management Team, stated that as a result of activities around the AKK project, the country would see over eight billion standard cubic feet (scf) of gas injected into the domestic pipeline which will improve power generation, facilitate industrial development, create thousands of job opportunities and deepen domestic gas utilisation.

Kyari described the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Pipeline as a signature project of this administration and that it was time for Nigeria to take advantage of having the highest gas reserves in Africa.

Earlier in her remarks, the Chairman of the NNPC Board, Senator Margery Okadigbo expressed satisfaction with the progress of work.

She was optimistic that based on the magnitude of work done at the various construction sites, the projection to have first gas by the first quarter of 2023 was realisable.

She observed that the country stood the chance to leverage on the current realities to provide solutions to the global gas supply challenge.

Chairman of Oilserv, the Company handling Segment A of the AKK project, Mr. Emeka Okwuosa, confirmed his company’s readiness to deliver the project on schedule.

He assured that the project managers and teams were more than competent to deliver the project within record time.

The construction of the 614km AKK Pipeline project was flagged-off simultaneously in Kogi and Kaduna States by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020 to encourage gas utilization and serve as a springboard for the nation’s industrialization.

Nigeria 2023 : Governor Inuwa Yahaya Directs Political Appointees, Public Servants Aspiring Political Offices To Resign

By Joseph Edegbo

Gombe State Governor,  Inuwa Yahaya has directed political appointees and other public servants seeking elective offices in the forthcoming parties’ primaries ahead of the 2023 elections to tender their resignation letters.

This directive is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.

The SSG, in the statement, quoted the Electoral Act 2022 recently assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari which provides that political appointees aspiring to contest elections must resign their positions before the conduct of political parties’ primaries.

” I am pleased to remind you that Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR has assented to the Electoral Act 2022 recently. In accordance with the provisions of the Act, the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) has released the time table and schedule of activities for the 2023 general elections. Specifically, it is stated that all political appointees and other public servants aspiring to contest for political offices are expected to resign their appointments thirty ( 30) days before parties’ primaries of the positions they wish to contest”.

The statement therefore directed that all resignation letters are to be submitted to the office of the Secretary to the State Government not later than the stipulated 30 days before the primary elections.

EASTER: Let’s Pray For the Safe Return Of Our Abducted Children, Brothers And Sisters, By Uba Sani

0

I wish our Christian brothers and sisters in Nigeria and across the world happy Easter celebrations. We thank the Almighty God for seeing you through the physically tasking but spiritually uplifting Lenten Season. May all your sacrifices be rewarded. As we celebrate, please spare some thoughts for our brothers and sisters still in captivity. Pray fervently for their safe return.

Many families in Nigeria today are in distress. They are facing psychological torture and emotional trauma. Terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements have been making life unbearable for our people across communities. The latest in a series of abductions is the Abuja -Kaduna Train incident. The abductees have been moved to Shiroro Local Government in Niger State by terrorists. From the North West to North Central to South East, it is a trail of blood and tears. Terrorists and kidnappers have been having a field day. Few days ago 70 persons were abducted from communities in Plateau State. We must not forget that the Chibok School Girls, Leah Sharibu, four female students of College of Health Science and Technology, Tsafe, Zamfara State, and others across the country are still in captivity.

In a statement issued in August 2021 by UNICEF Representative in Nigeria, Mr. Peter Hawkins, a scary picture was painted of the havoc school abductions have been wrecking on educational institutions in Nigeria. According to him: “An estimated 200 Nigerian students are believed to still be held after school abductions that have plagued the country since December 2020. “More than 1,000 have been abducted in these attacks from December 2020 to date,” he said. Amnesty International on Thursday, April 14, 2022 gave further startling statistics on the abduction of school children. According to AI’s Nigeria Director, Osai Ojigho, “Of the more than 1,500 school children, who have been abducted in Northern Nigeria since the Chibok attack on April 14, 2014, at least 120 remain in captivity. They are mostly school girls, and their fate remains unknown.”

“Of the 276 school girls abducted in Chibok by Boko Haram, 109 are still unaccounted for. Of 102 students, who were kidnapped from the Federal Government College in Birnin Yauri, nine are still being held by their captors. One of the 121 students abducted from Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna State remains in captivity. Five of the 19 students abducted from Greenfield University were brutally murdered, while one of the 333 students kidnapped in Kankara, was also killed. Five of the 276 students kidnapped in Dapchi were killed, while one student, Leah Sharibu, remains in captivity. Five of the 136 school children kidnapped from Salihu Tanko Islamiya School in Tegina, have also been killed.”

This situation is totally unacceptable. We must not allow terrorists to destroy education in Nigeria and mortgage the future of our children. Let us take our challenges to God Almighty. The Federal Government must reinvigorate the war against terrorists and other criminal elements. Our country has bled enough.

I urge us to seek the face of God in this Easter period for His divine intervention in the affairs of our country. May He touch the hearts and minds of the evil ones in our midst so that the bloodletting can stop. We must restore the dignity of the human person. May we also pray to the Supreme One to continue to guide and strengthen members of the Security Forces as they battle terrorists, insurgents and kidnappers. May He expose the fifth columnists in the Security Forces so that the efforts of our patriotic servicemen and women would start bearing fruits.

I salute the courage, patience and resilience of the good people of Kaduna State. You have gone through a lot in the hands of terrorists, insurgents, kidnappers and other agents of destabilization. The government is not resting on its oars. Please continue to support the government and the security agencies as they battle these enemies of the people. Better and more effective strategies are being fashioned to make life unbearable for the merchants of evil.

HAPPY EASTER CELEBRATION!!!

Nigeria: Prince Tonye Princewill Escapes Assassination As Gunmen Attack His Residence

0

By Nwaorgu Faustinus

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, and an aspirant for the governorship position in the coming 2023 poll, Prince Tonye Princewill, today divinely escaped assassination attempt as gunmen attacked his residence.

In a statement issued personally by Prince Tonye Princewill who is on consultative tour of most Emirate Councils in the Northern Nigeria with his Principal, Rr. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi AmaechiI seeking support for the presidential bid of the incumbent Minister of Transportation, he stated thus, “can confirm that in the early hours of this morning my house was broken into. The target was clearly me, as the intruders headed straight for what they thought was my room, broke in and met my absence. Nothing of value was taken, except the hard drive of the CCTV recorder, which leads me to conclude, they had only one objective; my elimination.”

The statement Reads:

“I want to thank God that the devil is a liar and His children will always be protected. Thankfully I am well and nobody in my household was hurt, but this is a stark reminder that the 2023 political season has started and those who cannot win on the field, will seek other ways to attain power. It may have worked in the past, but not here and not now.

“Let me assure my well wishers and my supporters that this incident has not deterred me, rather it has made me more committed to their cause. A more peaceful Rivers state, where all can sleep with both eyes closed and our youths can engage in meaningful activities that can put food on their family’s tables. Brick house is still our destination.

“We are clearly a threat to someone. That person and their group of persons will soon be exposed. In the meantime, I ask for your prayers and your support and some privacy. Any additional detail we have will be released to you via the security agencies. Let them do their jobs. Men from the security agencies are currently on the scene and I have every confidence that justice will be done.”

Ghana’s PAL Launches Proprietary Payment Processing Platform

0

PAL, a Ghanaian fintech startup, has created a proprietary payment processing platform that allows financial institutions, banks, worldwide brands, and remittance companies to immediately send money to various mobile network wallets in several currencies.

It provides this service as an open API with a web interface that can be used for inbound remittance, payment, loans, and other financial services by governments, banks, financial institutions, and large brands all over the world to disburse cash in multiple currencies instantly and at a low cost to mobile wallets in Africa.

“Many African countries do not have the proper payment infrastructure built to connect unbanked individuals owning mobile wallets to the international financial stream. In some countries where the infrastructure is in place, it is challenging to deal with the telecoms and can take three to seven months before getting the API,” Maël said.

PAL was founded in January 2020 by Dady Maël and Kader Saka. It creates its payment infrastructure for cash-in and cash-out to a mobile wallet, without the need for a third-party technology component integration.

MFS Africa and Zeepay are two African firms tackling this problem, but Mael claims they take the technical integrations from telecom operators and combine them into one API for enterprises. Meanwhile, PAL is constructing the entire infrastructure.

Despite being bootstrapped to date, the company is now operational in Ghana and Benin, with plans to expand into four more countries — Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, and Senegal – soon.“We have seen a huge interest from companies willing to access the Benin market, and have started working with them. Benin has received more than US$200 million in 2017 from other countries, and has seen significant growth in the last two years and the arrival of COVID-19,” Maël said.

PAL has already connected 80 million mobile wallets to its proprietary payment system and obtained a mobile money distribution license. The reason is, that it charges a small percentage fee on every transaction made via its platform.

“We have 11 companies onboard from Benin, Ghana, the US, Nigeria, and France, and we have done a total of 50,000 transactions,” Maël said.

Peter Obi, Fayose, Dele Momodu And Other Presidential Jokers, By Fredrick Nwabufo

0
Fredrick Nwabufo

A joker in poker is a wild card. It can be flipped; it can substitute and be substituted. And it can just be that jester. Nigeria’s political caravan is saturated with jokers. While some jokers are well aware of their status as factotums of other interests in the political circus, some are just aboriginal jesters taken up in their own vanity and delusion of importance. There are presidential hopefuls and there are presidential jokers.

Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is a presidential joker. I believe Obi knows that he cannot succeed in his presidential expedition under the current political arrangement. The entrenched system which abominates merit is not of his making, but it is an obvious encumbrance to him emerging as the presidential candidate of the PDP. Peter Obi is no match for any of the APC presidential hopefuls — Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, and Rotimi Amaechi. This is an uncomfortable but evident fact.

As I wrote in a previous column, if it were a sectional contest where only Igbo votes will decide the winner, perhaps, the former Anambra governor will have a chance. But this is a national election where every Nigerian – north, south, east, west – will decide the outcome. Obi does not have the requisite community network and he remains suspended on the fringes of political relevance. He does not matter to those who really matter in elections – the hoi-polloi. But I give it to him, he is a favourite of some Nigerians from the south on Twitter. But there are no polling stations on Twitter.

It has been speculated that Obi is using the presidential quest as a gambit to negotiate for a vice-presidential position in the PDP – because he may not get another chance like in 2019 when he was the running mate of Atiku Abubakar, PDP presidential candidate, in the election. According to whispers from party insiders, a running mate from the south-south or south-west may be selected, if the presidential ticket goes to a northern candidate. This is on the assumption that a popular running mate from the south-west can bite into the bloc vote of the APC in the region.

Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti state, is another presidential joker. The good thing is, the ‘’Amala and Ponmo’’ exponent, admits he is a joker. Fayose does not try to be suave or rational about his status as a hoaxer; he is honest about his ‘’presidential’’ pursuit. He is a political scullion. Fayose knows he is not popular and that he lacks the needed network for presidential nomination and election. He knows it will even take him an effort to win a senatorial election in Ekiti.

But who is the former governor fronting for? It is alleged that Fayose may be jesting at the behest of the ‘’grand patron’’ of the PDP – a certain governor from the south-south. Real contenders in internal party contests often flash jokers to boost their negotiating and electoral chances. The jokers act in the interest of the pied piper while maintaining a façade.

However, Dino Melaye, former senator and the liveried footman of Atiku and Bukola Saraki, accused Fayose of acting in the interest of another godfather in the APC. So, the former governor may not only be a joker but also a spoiler.

“It is clear from the verbal missiles deployed by Fayose that he was simply de-marketing frontline aspirants in PDP as a counterintuitive strategy to shore up the chances of his political godfather in APC,’’ Melaye said in response to Fayose’s ‘’demarketing’’ of Atiku and Saraki.

Dele Momodu is a presidential joker. Cerebral, cosmopolitan, expansive, yes, he is. In 2011, the CEO of Ovation group ran for presidential office on the ticket of the National Conscience Party (NCP). But he only secured 26,376 votes, coming a distant 11th on the election log. Momodu is vacant of grassroots appeal and appears sequestered from everyday Nigerians. He has a mélange of friends in the elite phylum, but not enough political network to swing the presidential pendulum his way. It has been speculated that he is fronting for Saraki.

Tunde Bakare is another presidential joker. He said God told him to run for president. Well, I believe the fiery preacher knows the celestials will not be voting in the elections – only Nigerians. Perhaps, he wants to take the baton from Chris Okotie, the debonair pastor known for running for president every election cycle without getting as much as 50,000 votes.

There are other persons in the band of presidential jokers. They include but not limited to Cosmo Ndukwe of the PDP, Anyim Pius Anyim of the PDP, Orji Kalu of the APC, Bala Mohammed of the PDP and David Umahi of the APC.

There are presidential hopefuls and there are presidential jokers. The jokers bring nothing but comic relief, and perhaps, excitement to the contest. And who does not fancy a good laugh?

Osinachi Nwachukwu: Greater In Death, By Gabriel Agbo

0
Rev. Gabriel Agbo

Yes, we will not see her again on this side of eternity, but her piercing, anointed, generational voice and the ripples of the revelations coming out of her marriage experience will still be with us for a long time to come. The painful and untimely passing of one of the Nigeria’s leading Christian worship leaders / musicians Osinachi Nwachukwu has brought mourning to many hearts and also turned the searchlight once again to the increasing incidents of domestic violence and abuse in our society. We were initially told that she died from a battle with throat cancer, but from the stories that are trending now, it’s like she was also going through very deep and protracted domestic issues. We are hearing that the husband mentally, physically and financially tortured her. The relations and friends have said so. The minister for woman affairs and others were also reported to have spoken with her kids while visiting her home. We have also read that the police arrested and is currently investigating the man. Sure, no victim of domestic violence has attracted so much attention in this part of the world. No doubt the death of this fast-rising and anointed talent is an irreparable loss to this generation, the church, the nation and the world. I have personally been in a mourning mode since I got the news. It is still shocking that such angelic, genuine and terrific worship was coming out of a pained and traumatized heart. I can now see that she was using all her strength to cry out for a rescue, but unfortunately, we did not decode the message in her voice, tears and look. But why did heaven allow this to happen? Tell me.

There are so many questions over this avoidable loss. Why would a man, a human being treat a wife or even another person that way (that is if what we are hearing is true)? Sorry, I added that caveat because most of us are still confused about what actually killed the woman. Was it the throat cancer as initially reported or the beating of the man as we later heard? This must be made clear. Have an autopsy been conducted? If not, please those concerned should do so immediately and release the result to the public. Her case is no more private. Nigerians, government, NGOs, the church, her colleagues and fans all over the world are interested. I think I also read it was mentioned in the senate or by one of the leaders. Facts must be properly verified before any conclusion or vilification. What was the immediate cause of Osinachi’s death?? Did the relations, husband, church do everything within their power to save her? We must not rush into any conclusion or be carried away by emotions now. We want the facts from the experts and nothing but the facts. That will help to cool the nerves and console the grieving hearts. Then, why was she going through all these and the ministers and associates were not able to pick the signals and help her on time?  Are we sure we showed her enough love or were we just exploited her gifts and service? Ministers, friends must look beyond the gifts and services to see what is going around and in the life of the gifted. Look into the spirit of your members, look at their faces. See their pains, their needs, hunger and their fears and not just their numbers, resources and talents. Release the time and the resources back to the people. I am still shocked that a worship leader of Osinachi’s statue was going through all that and her pastor didn’t know. Your worship leader is always like your close daughter in any ministry – a priceless asset. In fact, they help to grow the church. Most people come to church to enjoy good worship and praise sections.

I also want to blame our late sister, if what we are reading is true. Why did she remain in that hell called home without crying out? She had access to many other great, genuine ministers that could have also helped her. She did not have to die that way. I do not support careless divorce, but you can separate at extreme cases, at least to see if things can be repaired before you continue. It is better and cheaper to be alive. When you die prematurely, you lose everything and your kids will suffer and float for as long as the grace will carry them. I am a victim of this and I don’t wish any child such experience. And it is not just about men because some women also mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually abuse their husbands and children.  The things we are hearing are the extreme form of slavery. I don’t have a problem with husbands and wives managing their resource together, but it must be done in love, faithfulness and the resources must also be evenly used to take care of every member of the family. It is gross wickedness, satanic for somebody to produce and you deny them the benefit and joy of their efforts. Finance, lack of respect, lack of commitment and unfaithfulness are behind most of the marital issues we are having today. There is always a struggle over these and you are safe not to pass judgments until you know the genesis of the matter. Marriage is work and commitment.  I wish our dear sister is alive today to tell her own side of the story. It could be deeper or shallower than we are hearing. Peter and Osinachi Nwachukwu would have ruled the world. Maybe, she would have also told us to leave and pray for her husband, that he would eventually change. That was what she kept telling her relations and friends till the end. Yes, she was indeed a true Christian, but just needed a little information and courage to avert this avoidable sad end. The man just mismanaged what most men are looking for. Just imagine that angel in the hand of a loving, committed and caring husband or even in the hands of a very loving, powerful minister of the gospel. Imagine that lady singing before or after you powerful preaching. Yes, they would have indeed ruled the world.

Now, that oil has spilled, it is not time to keep shading tears and looking for a way to punish her husband. We must urgently put in place the mechanism to draw out and help those that are going through the same level of abuse. Note that I said level of abuse, because we must not encourage people to walk out of their marriages at the slightest misunderstanding or conflict. No! There is no marriage, partnership without conflict.  But if you cannot handle the situation please speak out. Talk to your family. Talk to your pastor and mentors. Talk to genuine marriage counselors. And also pray and work on yourselves. The problem may even be from you and you are busy blaming others. Also be careful how you swallow the advices of these many unmarriable marriage counselors who are against marriage institution. Yes, some people are indeed unmarriable and they may not be qualified to advise others. You cannot give what you don’t have. Be careful! Marriage is divine, desirable, sweet and can be honorable and enjoyable. Marriages are increasingly suffering and crashing today because this generation does not appreciate divine love, faithfulness, submission and commitment. The bible said that men should love their wives as Christ loves them and women must submit to their husbands as the head of the family. But this generation does want to hear all of that. If you ignore the word of God, you suffer. We also want to ask the Nigerian government, her church and fans to think of immediately establishing a foundation in her name that will fight for other women (and men) who are abused, take care of her children’s well-being and education and her beautiful works. It will also be good for the government, woman affairs ministry and the Dunamis church to immortalize this rare gem, visiting angel, by naming monuments after her. Pastor Enenche, please take note. We must not stop at visiting her home, interviewing her kids, shedding tears or looking for a scapegoat to jail or punish. She was just like that angel that periodically came to stir the pool at Bethesda. They come once in a while.  Good night Sister Osinachi!

VP Osinbajo And The Tinubu Challenge, By Ozodinukwe Okenwa

0
Osinbajo-Tinubu (Credit: Punch)

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, formally declared his intention to succeed his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, last Monday. By so doing he had put speculations to that effect to rest. The diminutive number two citizen sounded coherent, patriotic, bold and convincing in his declaration speech. He sought to be seen as his own man. Before coming out openly to inform Nigerians of his readiness to compete and serve presidentially Osinbajo must have consulted widely. And above all, he must have sought and obtained the blessing and endorsement of the President himself.

Buhari and the Fulani cabal running the federal government on his behalf must have zeroed in on Osinbajo after the GEJ kite failed to fly. To be sure they must have concluded that Osinbajo is controllable and more loyal than the so-called National Leader of the ruling party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. The VP would definitely abide by the gentlemen agreement by not rocking the boat as it were.

The Senior Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCGG) has a couple of ‘positives’ following his political career. He is seen generally as a man of God in whom one can put their trust. He is not associated with baggages of corruption or political ‘sins’. He could be described as a ‘saint’ compared to other professional politicians, scoundrels et al, whose pasttime is looting the treasury and delivering little in terms of democracy dividends to the people.

Osinbajo‘s declaration speech ‘offended’ the sensibility of some folks especially where he indicated his intention to pursue the programmes and policies of Buharism. The Buhari presidential legacy is not worth emulating or continuing for whatever reason. Osinbajo goofed by saying that he would build on the ‘great achievements’ of his boss. Where are the achievements? Abuse of power? Terrorism? Banditry? Kidnapping for ransom? Secessionist violence?

However, juxtaposed otherwise, we can understand his desperation to eulogize the President and paint him in glowing colours. The history of the Buhari underwhelming regime cannot be written without a mention or two of Osinbajo. The Vice President is practically in charge of economic issues, the initiator and distributor of paliatives to the poor and vulnerable.

Much as the Professor may have meant well by wanting to serve Nigerians at the highest level of governance the challenge before him appears daunting indeed. Unless a consensus candidate is adopted by the APC Osinbajo may not stand a chance of beating his former boss and benefactor, Asiwaju Tinubu, in the race for the presidential flagbearer of the party towards the 2023 presidential poll.

In terms of political organization, followership and popularity Osinbajo is no match to Tinubu. The former may be intellectually more grounded and professionally upright but the latter is an experienced organized politician with intimidating credentials and achievements, especially in Lagos.

Asiwaju Tinubu is far from being a paragon but he had built bridges and made contacts across the lenght and breadth of the country that if the contest, the primaries, are thrown up without manipulation or consensus nonsense no one stands a chance of defeating him. Though his baggages of corruption may play against him he would triumph at the end of the day. Whoever is not corrupt should cast the first stone!

He has the money to prosecute his ‘life-long’ ambition of becoming President. He has the grassroots mobilization team scattered across the federation. He had touched lives and shown his benevolent capacity to help friends in times of need. This demonstration of charity beyond the boundaries of religion or tribe could be said to have an egoistical tinge attached to it but it could be altruistic all the same.

By seeking the presidency, aware that Asiwaju had already declared his candidacy for the same top job, Osinbajo has put himself on a collision course with the Tinubu political machine. The well-oiled machine is desperate and efficacious cutting across boundaries and tongues. Both men may not be the same after all is said and done with the winner and loser emerging.

Asiwaju Tinubu does not look like one to be persuaded to drop his ambition in support of his former ‘godson’. And the glorified godson, sensing history and forces in his favour, may not be willing to forgo his ambition in deference to Lagos godfather. So the clash is evident and unavoidable!

If Tinubu triumphs at the primaries Osinbajo and his supporters may rally around him. But the same cannot be said with the Osinbajo victory at the primaries. Tinubu may pull out of the ruling party and seek solution from elsewhere. If that happens then the APC is sure of losing the presidential election in February next year.

But even if the two men could reach a compromise and make up before or after the primaries the APC is not sure of victory at the polls given the glaring failures of Buharism. Whoever emerges as the ruling party’s representative at the polls may find it difficult to promise anything since the promises made seven years ago by Buhari are yet to be fulfilled.

The biggest challenge to the Osinbajo presidency, with the feeling of his apparent anointment in mind, remains the Asiwaju factor. Who can reconcile both men? Who is capable of reconciling their differences? When power is concerned then to hell with the past or cult of personality!

We welcome VP Osinbajo to the race for the presidency. But we hasten to add that if he thinks succeeding his principal is a ‘walkover’ then he must pray and fast harder. Even if he succeeds in succeeding Buhari the task ahead is not only arduous but a herculean one.

The omnipotent position of President comes with enormous responsibility for the security, welfare and wellbeing of citizens. This burden of responsibility and service has been heightened by the current state of the polity characterized by severe threats to our collective existence as a people. The damage done to the system would take many years to repair.

Fixing the broken system requires leadership anchored on character and patriotism, competence and example. Sadly, Buharism has never exhibited any of these traits!

We are convinced that Prof. Osinbajo would make a good President, a better one indeed than the bumbling fumbling incumbent. Yet the challenges of our time are enormous. Nigeria needs a strong President who neither ‘loves’ God too much nor ‘hates’ Him so much! Prayer or fasting are not enough to clean the Augean stable.
