Officer’s and Men of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Jigawa State Command says it has successfully rescued ten victims of suspected human trafficking.
Addressing a press conference at the Command Headquarters, the Comptroller, TA Musa said all the suspected victims were rescued by its team codenamed “Operation Salama” at a village called Naira Tsamiyar Kwance at Babura border in Babura LGA, in Jigawa state.
According to the Comptroller, all the victims were without valid travelling documents, while leaving the country illegally through dubious means. The ten suspects were made up of eight females, and two males on whose names, ages and states are as follows.
Alatise Damilola female 29yr old from Oyo state, Ayomide Adeyemi Male 24 yrs from Ondo state, Wisdom Chikwu Emeka Male, aged 29 from Imo state.
Other’s are Lateef Jumoke female, aged thirty coming from Ondo state, Emyola Adeoye female, aged 24 and hailed from Ogun state, Soneye Abigeal female, aged 22 coming from Ogun state, Ogunleye Temitope female, aged 29 Ogun state.
Others are Osirowo Rebecca female aged 21 coming from Ogun State, Oniyide Kabirat female aged 27 Ogun State, and Azizat Adaranijo female aged 26 and hailed from Ogun state.
Comptroller T A Musa further stated that upon their interceptions at Naira Tsamiyar Kwance and subsequent profiling and interrogation, “all the suspects have confessed to us that they were moved from different locations to Kano, then Kano to Babura enroute to Niger Republic to Tripoli in Libya to cross Mediterranean Sea to Europe”.
He further stated that all arrangements have been completed in handing over the victims to an Agency of the Federal Government responsible for Anti Human Trafficking which is NAPTIP.
Comptroller Musa called on parents and guardians to watch over their children from being deceived by those who make deceits to young kids of better life abroad, not minding the harsh consequences of going through illegal routes.
