A new farming concept for the growth of agriculture is being evolved in Jigawa State through the involvement of agriculture extension services.

Is in an interview with Africa Prime News in Dutse.
He said the new concept will engage the services of agricultural experts in accessing and taking stock on farmlands management through the use of data bank documentation which would be used in procuring and providing extension services for optimum results.
Under the new concept, agricultural experts will take record of each captured Farmer and document the farm captured.
Under this, he emphasized, the farm size, production capacity and the needs in terms of quantity and quality of fertilizer among other agric accessories for easy disbursement through the captured records to boost food production.
“In achieving this set objectives we were grouped into committees by the jigawa state government in three Senatorial Districts whereby each zone was attached with agric experts in taking record’s of the captured farmlands in that zone in so doing we hope to cover the state in that directions. The essence is to ensure probity and accountability.
“So far we have covered 14 out of the 27 LGAs in jigawa state, and we are hoping to complete the rest between now and end of January
Our engagements include farmlands registration, demacation of cattle routes to avoide perrenial conflicts between farmers/ harders, provision of grazing lands, animal feeds, etc as well to preach peace among warriors of farmer’s/ harders to entrench peacefulo-existence for peace to reign in our state. since our outings there was no single occurrence of farmers/ nomads fued.
Hadejia commended Governor Namadi in making the availability of fertilizer at affordable prices from thirty five thousand naira to sixteen thousand naira per bag, disbursement of 2-2 tractor’s about fifty five to twenty seven LGA’S across jigawa state, provision of soft loans to agric farmer’s, among other provisions of agricultural implements at subsidized rates.
” We applaud government in providing our farmers with assorted improved wheat seedlings, insecticides, and farming chemicals at subsidized rate among Others to boost wheat farming in jigawa state”.
He then called on farmers to reciprocate government gesture by repaying all agric loans given to them.on time for others to benefits.
“Again I am calling on our farmers to not to indulge in the habit of conniving with relevant agric agencies or organization on any issues relating to agric development instead they should liase with AFAN at all times in all aspects of their agric requirements.
He warned farmers to desist from the habits of selling off their produce at give away prices as government attract a severe punishment for erring farmers caught engaged in such act.
