Nigerian Muslims Joined Christians In Easter Celebrations

Kaduna (Nigeria) – Muslim leaders and youths have joined christians in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria to celebrate easter with the aim of promoting peaceful co-existance among people of diverse religions.

It was the third time Muslims as a group in Kaduna joined the founder of an NGO, ‘Peace Revival and Reconciliation Foundation of Nigeria,’ who is also the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry, Pastor Yohanna Buru to celebrate Easter.

Pastor Buru thanked the Muslims for the visit and the lunch organized to mark the 2015 Good Friday and Easter Monday at his residence in Sabon Tasha Kaduna.

He said the lunch was for both Christians and Muslims, aimed at solidifying, love peace, brotherliness and Religious tolerance between members of the two religions.

Also speaking, Chairperson of the women wing of Peace, Revival and Reconciliation Foundation, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar called for continuous peace and tolerance among muslims and christians in the country.

In a remark, eepresentative of Islamic Movement of Nigeria in Kaduna, Malam Mudaras Mohammad described the occasion as historic.

He called on Nigerian religion leaders to always preach peace, unity and encourage peace in all communities of the country.

Earlier, a traditional leader, Galadiman Gabbas of Tudun Wada Kaduna, Malam Lawal Maduru urged christians to use the Easter period to promote unity and understanding among Nigerians.

Malam Maduru who operate a youth skill rehabilitation centre in Rigasa a suburb of Kaduna said, his outfit had also organised an Easter celebration to his christian students in the spirit of allowing them the freedom to practice their religion.
