The Emir of Dutse in Jigawa state, Northwest Nigeria, Mohammed Hamin Nuhu Sunusi has made a passionate appeal on behalf of his subjects to President Buhari to help complete the abandoned Dutse Regional Water Scheme to overcome the lingering water scarcity in the metropolitan Dutse, the State capital.
Speaking while on courtesy visit to President Buhari at Villa, Sunusi drew the attention of Mr. President to the giant water project neglected for over five years despite promises by past regimes, adding ” we are calling on the federal government to save our souls for the completion of this very viable project, as water sustain lives”
The Emir however, commended the federal government for citing a military base in Dutse for the safety of lives and property of the people, adding “we are very appreciative with this gesture, as the formation of this giant stride made us fully secured”.
Responding, President Buhari condoled the Emir over the death of his father, late Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi of blessed memory.
On his request,President Buhari assured Jigawa state populace on the completion of the giant edifice, saying the federal government viewed with concern all aspects of critical areas of infrastructure in which water supply is amongst, assuring “we will do everything humanly possible to reconsider the lingering project of Dutse Regional Water Supply Scheme, up to its logical conclusion”, he assured.
Among the Entourage of the Emir were the Waziri of Dutse, Barr. Bashir Dalhatu,the Madaki of Dutse, Alh. Tijjani Inua Dutse, the Makama of Dutse, Alh. Ibrahim Yaya Aminu.
Others include Sarkin Sudan of Dutse, Alh. Shuaibu Maigida, the Magayaki of Dutse, Alh Ali and Dan Amanar Dutse, Alh. Nasiru Haladu Dano.
