Jigawa state government said it expended over 912 Million Naira on the construction of 106 solar motorized water treatment plant in major towns across the state last year.
The acting Managing Director of the Small Town Water Agency , STOWA, Engr. Adamu Garba made this known in a statement issued to Newsmen in Dutse.
He said 230 water supply schemes were rehabilitated during the period under review at a cost of over 401 Million Naira, while
54 water schemes were upgraded and converted into solar powered schemes at a cost of over 772 million naira.
According to him, over 21 million naira was expended on the renovation of STOWA head office Shuwarin during the period under review
He said two billion, one hundred and seven million naira was expended as expenditure of the agency last year.
The Managing Director said government was committed towards executing more water projects in both rural and urban areas to supply adequate portable water, as water sustains lives.
