EXPOSED: How Uba Sani Sponsored Anti-People’s Policy Of Naira Redesign At National Assembly, By Sa’idu Adamu

Date:

It is amazing to discover that, one of the All Progressive gubernatorial candidates is the sponsor of the Naira redesign notes at the National Assembly, but funny enough, six progressive Governors led by Nasiru El-Rufai filed a suit against the federal government on the policy.

Surprisingly, Uba Sani, who is representing Kaduna Central at the Senate and also the gubernatorial candidate under the platform of the APC, had on Wednesday, 16th November 2022 at the plenary, amidst a heated debate in the Senate moved for the motion of the Naira redesign and as well, insisted on the January 31st 2023 deadline.

It is disheartening to say the least, that Uba Sani, in company of his principal, Nasiru El-Rufai had gathered the market leaders to brainwash and deceive the innocent people of Kaduna state by speaking ill of the bill he personally sponsored. He even accused the President and CBN Governor of causing hardship on Nigerians.

He even watched as his principal, Nasiru El-Rufai had on different media platforms blamed the implementation of the policy on some people he referred to as “elements”, while he had personally pushed for the implementation of the policy.

The Central Bank policy on the redesign of the Naira had received full legislative support by the Senate, after hours of heated debate.

The debate on the policy by the Senators was sequel to the motion sponsored by Senator Uba Sani, as the Lawmakers reconvened in plenary after three weeks of budget defence sessions.

Senator Sani who chairs the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, had in the prayers to his motion, urged the Senate to provide legislative support for the policy.

He also pleaded with the senate to mandate his Committee to embark on aggressive oversight function on the policy slated to take full effect on January 31, 2023.

On that faithful day, following the rowdy session caused by the heated debate, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, said, it was the prerogatives of the CBN to redesign the Naira and put deadline for compliance.

The Senate had mandated the Committee on Banking, insurance, and other Financial Institutions headed by the said Uba Sani to embark on oversight so as to ensure effective implementation of the policy.

Today, Uba Sani is trying to cry more than the bereaved and even giving citizens, particularly those residing in Kaduna the impression of sharing in the pains the policy has caused them, not knowing that he is the mastermind of the anti people’s policy.

Kaduna residents have to act fast, they must take a stance at the polls. This is a warning that Uba Sani will be worse than Governor Nasiru El-Rufai as regards policy making.
