Reports from Ankpa town, headquarters of the local Government area of Kogi State, North Central Nigeria say the three banks recently attacked by armed robbers remain under lock and key.
Consequently, customers of the affected banks now rely on Point Of Sale (POS) banking system to transact businesses.
Others are also forced to travel out of the town to obtain services that cannot be provided by POS/ATM.
Last Tuesday, a gang of armed robbers attacked the banks and the Police station killing and injuring a number of persons, to cart away millions of Naira.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) said to be among the injured, is reportedly recuperating.
Ankpa, One of the usual commercial bubbling towns in Kogi East is said to be witnessing a gloomy atmosphere following the incident.
