Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria has distanced self from the STATEMENT that parents would contribute 10.000 naira each for Nigerian students, so that ASUU may end the 6 months strike.
A statement by the National President Parents Teacher Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Haruna Danjuma distanced his organization from the said statement.
According to him, parents teacher association of Nigeria is not aware of this statement and therefore has warned against using her name to cause for such act..
“we are not involved in any statement related to paying money to Asuu for them to call- up the on -going strike ”
“our stand since from the inception of the strike is for both Asuu and federal government to come to an agreement which is to end the strike .but not to contribute money to pay Asuu ”
Beside that PTA still insist on negotiation between asuu and federal government, so as to end the on going strike that is affecting the quality system of education in the country .
Furthermore, there is need for government and Asuu to as a matter of urgency, come to conclusions and reach an agreement ,because the strike has affected millions of students and university lecturers in many ways.
While still appealing to the federal government to please and please listen to the demand of ASUU, PTA also begs the government to rescue all kidnapped secondary school students across the country that are still in bandit captivity .
Danjuma decries the current situation of Yawuri kidnapped female students that are still with bandits captivity for over 400 days ,hence the need to rescue all students
Similarly, the National President Foundation for the Protection of Women and Children in Nigeria Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani has called on parents across the country to monitor the movement of students that are on holidays.
She appealed to parents to also monitor TV stations to prevent them from watching some foreign films that promote immorality .
