A kaduna based Horticulture graduate, Al-amin shehu says he has abodonned white colar job and embraced planting and selling of economic tree’s to be self defendant.
He also supports government,
NGOs on the campaigns against climate change, flood disaster, desertification, deforestation and other environmental challenges.
He stated this while speaking with newsmen in Kaduna, North West of the country.
According to him, every year, over 100.000 different plants species are planted and sold to thousands of people with the aim of planting them at homes, streets, and parks as well as new settlemebts to save Human against global warming and other ecological challenges
Alamin explained that since he graduated, he embraced planting and selling of trees to be self dependant and through which he has been earning a living
In Every 6 months, he produces 50,000 varieties of trees and that he doesn’t want government job as he is truly happy with what he gets from the business .
He encouraged other graduates to be creative and innovative while calling on government to create an enabling environment for graduates to be self reliant.
Similarly, a Science -Climatologists, and Director African Climate Reporters, Comrade Nurudden Bello called on Nigerians to plant trees so as to combat desertification, and reduce global warming
He observed that many forests in the northern part of Nigeria are turning to deserts due to human irrational activities of cutting down trees
He stressed the need for Nigerians to imbibe the culture of tree planting in their communities so as to prevent the environment from flooding, guily erosion, and other ecological challenges affecting aquatic mammals
He expressed dismay over increased demand for firewood and charcoal business in the country and therefore appealed to government at all levels to promote the use of renewable energy and other ways of using cooking stove
