Nigeria: Gov. Soludo Presents Revised 2022 Draft Budget Of 170 Billion Naira To State Assembly

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state southeast Nigeria, has presented the revised 2022 Appropriation Act and 2022 Fiscal Framework to the State House of Assembly.

The draft raised the deficit in the state Government’s budget from 141.9 Billion Naira to 170 Billion Naira.

64% of the revised budget is for capital expenditure compared to the previous draft, stating that the revision became imperative to suit the current realities.

Soludo revealed that 60% is targeted at delivering infrastructure to residents, with about 31% for the Ministry of Works and reeled out other contents of the draft to include building of a befitting Government House and Governor’s Lodge, Anambra Airport, Digitalization of the Ministry of finance, clearing of pension arears, payment of counterpart development funds, among others.

While pledging that the state Legislature as an arm of government will join hands with the Executive arm to ensure that the Soludo-led government succeeds, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor expressed optimism that the contents of the revised draft Budget are structured in tandem with his desire to run quality government where people’s welfare and total development of the state are guaranteed.
