A Kaduna State Gubernatorial Aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Sen. Shehu Sani has urged opposition parties to unite and save Nigeria from collapsed under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Unfolding his campaign agenda at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna State Council Secretariat, Tuesday, Sen. Shehu Sani said uniting the people of Kaduna State is also the top agenda of his administration if elected as Governor.
He noted with concern the existing North and South divide in the State saying that if given the mandate, the situation would be adequately addressed.
He advised the electorate not to allow themselves to be influenced monetarily or materially pointing out that if APC was allowed to remain in power, Nigerians should blame themselves.
He also expressed worry over the security situation in Kaduna State which the Aspirant described as the worst in the country.
Senator Shehu Sani who said it was unfortunate for the State to have found itself in the situation despite the presence of military formations, blamed the state government for not providing the necessary assistance compare to other states.
He said under his watch, the government would not only provide necessary assistance to law enforcement agencies but fund a volunteer force to tackle insecurity.
The Gubernatorial Aspirant stated that any leader that can not protect lives and property of the people is not worth a leader, pointing out that the present administration has become helpless and hopeless in tackling insecurity.
He wondered why Kaduna had now become epicenter of banditry and kidnapping, a situation that One hardly heard of in States like Kano Jigawa, Gombe and Bauchi.
On infrastructural development, Senator Sani faulted the concentration of development at the city centre at the expense of rural areas, explaining that the money being used was meant for the entire State and not the centre alone.
He therefore promised thatbIf elected, all the 23 local government areas would be adequately developed.
Agriculture, he said, would receive attention and not a window dressing where bags of maize were purchased from market and erected pyramids to deceive the public that an achievement had been recorded.
He also spoke of resuscitating the moribund industries in the Southern part of Kaduna metropolis which he accused the APC administration of unconcerned.
On his chances in the contest, Shehu Sani said he believes in himself and God and that whoever is endorsed by a political god-ather is a stooge
He said all the 7 PDP Gubernatorial aspirants are united with the sole aim at unseating the APC administration in Kaduna State .
