The Onu Idaka in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, Chief Abdul Egene has paid homage to His Royal Majesty, the Attah Igala, Matthew Alaji Opaluwa who ascended the throne of his forefathers recently.

The Chief was accompanied by elders from Adige clan, Emewe, Abocho and Idaka as well as those from other parts of the Igala Kingdom who also traced their origin to Idah over 3,000 years ago during the reign of Attah Ayegba Oma-Idoko.

Chief Egene thanked the ruling House for a peaceful selection process and atmosphere prevailing in Idah and the entire Igala kingdom during the period.

This, he observed, was uncommon in parts of the country where such chieftaincy affairs occur.

The Onu Idaka presented Kolanut to Attah in royalty, as custom and traditions demand.

Receiving the Onu and his entourage, His Royal Majesty, Mathew Opaluwa prayed for the chief and entire people of Idaka chiefdom.

He reminded the subjects of the beads of Ayegba Oma-Idoko being worn by the Onu, hence the need for them to be of good behaviour and law abiding for peace and progress to reign in the community in particular, and Igala kingdom, as a whole.
