SOKAPU Donates Relief Materials in Southern Kaduna IDPs Camps

Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), Friday, donated food items, clothes and medical drugs to over 10,000 Internally Displaced Persons in Zonkwa and Samaru Kataf, all in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, northwest Nigeria.

National Women Coordinator of the Union, Jemuta Alheri Katarma who presented the items at the two camps on behalf of the Union’s President, Hon. Jonathan Asake, said it has become imperative to the Union to always identify with their people.

Mrs. Katarma, while at the ECWA Widows Training Camp Samaru, noted that the carnage meted on Atyap land calls for urgent attention both within and outside Nigeria, saying the carnage has turned Children to Orphans, women to widows and rendered many others homeless.

The Coordinator of ECWA Widows camp in Samaru Kataf, Rev. Victor Elisha Yahaya disclosed that they have registered about 5,500 IDPs, mostly women and Children.

He added that out of the 19 Communities attacked, 13 were completely ravaged and deserted by residents.

While in Gidan Rahama Christian Foundation IDP Camp in Zonkwa, the Coordinator, Rev. Gambo Waziri said they currently have a total of 4,761 registered IDPs in the Camp.
