Nigeria Is Sinking  — Says Amb. Kwande

Date:

A former Nigerian Ambassador to Switzerland, Alhaji Yahaya Kwande, has expressed grave concern over the security challenges threatening Nigeria, as a nation

Speaking in an interview, Amb. Kwande lamented that Nigerians are having sleepless nights due to senseless killings and kidnapping for ransom.

He noted that government has failed in its constitutional responsibility to protect lives and properties of the  citizens.

According to Kwande, the people are tired of repeated statements from the govt about the insecurity in the country.

He expressed worry that royal fathers have not been given any role to play when it matters most in curbing insecurity in the country, reminding the government that the colonial masters that created the traditional institutions were not fools.

Amb. Kwande maintained that the non involvement of traditional rulers in governance has left a vacuum in containing the menace knowing fully well that they know who comes in and out of their domains.

In Nigeria, he said, people are being taking away from their homes while Government does nothing, citing the Manager of the construction company at Jos Stadium who was kidnapped and killed.
