We ‘ll work assiduously to attain peace, security in Kaduna – Religious leaders

Date:

Members of the House of Kaduna Family, a body set up by the Government to compliment efforts of the State Peace Commission,  have pledged to work assiduously together to catalyze peace and security in the State.
The members who gave the assurance on Wednesday after a meeting in Kaduna,
assured that they would work to ensure that their assignment would contribute immensely to the search for peace and security in the state.
The Co-chairmen, Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Gumi and Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure who were elected to steer the affairs of the body,  reiterated that peace is not a privilege but a right for all people of the state regardless of faith, ethnicity and political affiliation .
They added that it was incumbent on all to work towards achieving lasting peace in the state.
Both Dr. Gumi and Apostle Kure explained that, the House of Kaduna family would explore all avenues to ensure that they do not fail the people of Kaduna State, adding that they accepted membership of the Family because they wanted to contribute their quota in ensuring peace and security in the state.
They explained that those who hide under the guise of religion to perpetrate crime and conflict do so under ignorance because where there is religion there is peace.
“History is knocking at our door steps to see what we can achieve for the state,” they said, adding that, “we cannot afford to fail. We are people of religion, people of God. So we shouldn’t fail”.
