Condolence: Zulum receives presidential delegation over passage of Emirs of Bama, Biu

Borno Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum on Tuesday received a presidential delegation consisting of ministers and other officials to commiserate with the Government and people of Borno State on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari over the demise of the emirs of Bama and that of Biu.
The Minister of Education, Mal. Adamu Adamu led the delegation, accompanied by the state ministers of Agriculture, Baba Shehuri and that of Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Aliyu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mal. Garba Shehu was also part of the delegation.
In a letter of condolence presented to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum by the leader of the delegation, Mal. Adamu Adamu, President Buhari described the two emirs as those that have contributed in keeping peace and stability in their respective emirates, especially in the wake of violence caused by the Boko Haram insurgents.
The President further described the death of the Shehu of Bama, Shehu Kyari Ibn Umar Elkanemi and the emir of Biu, Mai Umar Mustapha Aliyu in a rapid succession a rare double tragedy and painful loss to the people of Nigeria.
The minister of education, Mal. Adamu Adamu who led the delegation commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his commitment and sacrifice in the fight against insurgency in the northeast.
Your Excellency, on behalf of all well-meaning Nigerians for the commitment, devotion and courage with which you are perusing this battle.”
“We would like to pray to God to change the situation so that what obtain now in Borno State changed.”
“In particular sir, what you are doing is giving hope to Nigerians, because we have not seen a Governor, picking so much interest, risking his own life and then going after the danger that faces his people.”
“Your Excellency, we congratulate you for what you are doing.” The minster said.
Responding, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for sending a delegation to condole with government and people of Borno State.
Zulum also noted that President Buhari could not send a delegation for a when the Shehu of Bama died due to lock down as a result of covid-19 pandemic.
The Governor added that, the President had personally called him and the Shehu of Borno to commiserate over the death of the Shehu of Bama.
