Unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen Monday night attacked Gonan Togo village in Kufana District of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, North West Nigeria, killing 15 persons including women and chilren, while several others injured.
The injured, according to reports, are receiving treatment at a hospital in Kaduna, the State capital.
The attackers were also said to have made away with Nine cows.
Chairmen of Kajuru and Kachia Local Government Areas, Kufana District Head , Mr.Titus Dauda as well as the Commander, Artillery Regiment, Kaduna have visited the area and commiserated with the villagers.
They enjoined the people to be vigilant promising that Government would not relent in its avowed commitment to providing adequate security to protect lives and properties of the people.
The Council Chairmen gave an assurance to work with communities to enhance unity and progress among the populace.
On his part, the District Head, Titus Dauda who spoke against a reprisal attack, enjoined his subjects to remain law abiding and allow security agencies to do the needful.
Efforts to get the Spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command proved abortive as he neither picked a call nor responded to a text message.
