Kaduna State Chapter of the Joint Technical Task Team (JTTT) on Emergency Response to COVID 19 Challenges on Movement of Food and Agricultural Inputs has been inaugurated .
This is in compliance with the directive of the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development,
The committee inaugurated on 7th May, 2020 has the State Police Commissioner, UM Muri. as Chairman with other members drawn from various strata of the society.
They include DCC S U. Zarewa, The Deputy Commandant of Corps Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kaduna Command, Alh. Mohammed Kabir Salihu, Chairman All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Kaduna State Chapter;
Com. Bature Yusuf Suleiman, Secretary National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Kaduna State Chapter;
Mr John Femi, Secretary Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Chapter;
Alh. Babangida Ja’afar, Chairman Nigeria Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) Kaduna State Chapter; and
DR. Timkat N. Vantau Director Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Kaduna as Secretary of the Committee.
A statement issued by the State Police Command Spokesman ,ASP Mohammed Jalige on behalf of the Committee’s Chairman said the responsibility of the Committee is to liaise with all relevant agencies in the State and local government areas in order to facilitate a free and unhindered movement of food and agricultural inputs throughout the State without compromising the security and health of the state.
This is to ensure the creation of a window that will facilitate free movement of food and agricultural inputs throughout Nigeria.
” The Chairman of the committee and Commissioner of Police in the state, CP UM MURI assures the good people of Kaduna State that, the Committee’s activities will reflect in all the nooks and crannies of the State to ensure a hitch free movement of food and Agricultural inputs in and out of the state with a view to ensuring that Agricultural activities are not affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
” The Commissioner of Police therefore, enjoins all stakeholders and members of the public to cooperate with the Committee while carrying out its assignment”, the statement concludes.
