Family Health Advocates in Nigeria Initiative (FHANI) has commended Kaduna State Government for the distribution of Child Birth Spacing (CBS) commodities to healthcare facilities in the state.
The action, it says, is a demonstration of State Government’s commitment to ensuring better reproductive health for residents of the state amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement by FHANI Chairman, Alhaji Bala Mohammed Tijjani said the fear exercised by residents and partners over reproductive health of families, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic period will now be addressed.
“The shortage of CBS commodities already experienced in the state will drop drastically.
“We also commend the state government for keeping the Primary Healthcare Centres open for residents to access antenatal care and immunisation services among others.
“We call on Federal Government to live up to its expectations of timely supply of needed CBS commodities to citizens, in order to reduce the high burdens of maternal deaths experienced in the country,” the statement concludes.
