… Nigeria’s cases rise to 111 cases in FCT, 11 states
Latest national update released by the National Centre for Disease Control indicates there is no confirmed case of Covid-19 (coronavirus) in any part of Borno and 24 other states.
The update, which can be found on a link to NCDCs website, https://covid19.ncdc.gov.ng/ and it was shared through the NCDC’s twitter handle @NCDCgov with #COVID19Nigeria.
The update sharply contradict last night’s report by an online news medium, Sahara reporters, which claimed that two Nigerian soldiers involved in fighting boko haram had tested positive to Covid-19 in Borno state and being isolated at a military location.
The NCDC, which is generally regarded as the credible source of update on the pandemic released a national data which showed that the number of confirmed cases across the country has risen to 111 as at this morning, Monday March 30, 2020. Of the figure, one person died while 3 cases were discharged from hospital.
Analysis of the national update shows that Lagos leads with 68 cases, FCT follows with 21, Oyo 7 and Ogun 3.
Bauchi, Enugu, Edo and Osun states have 2 cases each.
The NCDC’s update also shows that Benue, Ekiti, Kaduna and Rivers states have one case each, while 25 made up of Borno, Abia, Adamawa, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross-River, Delta, Ebonyi, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Niger, Ondo, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara states all have no confirmed cases of coronavirus.
