NAFDAC says it has received reports of the presence of fake and adulterated hand Sanitizers in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria.
According to the reports, some people have had their hands burnt and blistered because of the untested products.
NAFDAC State Coordinator, Dadi NM who disclosed this in a statement, therefore advised residents to ensure that they purchase only registered products from registered stores.
“Simple things to check for on the labelling for regulated products are: NAFDAC REG NO; Name of product; List and quantity of active ingredients; Direction for use;
 Name of manufacturer and proper location address; Batch no,  date of manufacture and expiration date; pack size; etc. If there is any incidence of purchase of such unregistered regulated products, this should be immediately reported to [email protected] or call, send WhatsApp and sms 08031157977.
However, anyone who is interested in registering hand sanitizers during this COVID 19 pandemic should quickly visit our website: www.nafdac.gov.ng to access information that will lead to our expedited registration.
Please circulate the information on your social media so we can campaign against sale and distribution of fake and adulterated hand sanitizers not only in Kaduna state but around the country.
“Remember to wash your hands with approved soaps, use registered hand sanitizers and keep yourselves safe with social distancing. Have a lovely day,” the statement concludes.
