Zamfara At Russia – Africa Summit At Sochi

By Joseph Edegbo : Zamfara State Governor,  North West Nigeria , Dr. Bello Mohammed (MatawallenMaradun) is on President Muhammadu Buhari’s entourage to  a three -day Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi, Russia. 

The Business Summit which will hold on 23rd to 25th October, 2019 will specially focus on how to explore and expand opportunities on trade and investment, Agriculture, Security as well as technology and solid minerals development.
A statement by the Director General , Press Affairs to Zamfara Governor, Yusuf Idris Gusau listed other Governors on the President’s entourage to include, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe and Mr Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti States
The President’s entourage also has the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr Olamilekan  Adegbite, Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr Adeniyi Adebayo, Minister of State Petroleum, Mr Timipre Sylva and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama.
The Business Summit will bring together world business leaders and captains of industries to interact on how to enhance investment in major world economic sectors of Education, Science and Technology, Agriculture, Mining and Steel Development as well as infrastructural development.
 
Governor Matawalle  departed together with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja at exactly  2: 15 PM in a presidential Jet.
Other Zamfara State Government officials that joined the Governor on the trip include, Head of the State Civil Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Solid Minerals Development Dr Nura Isah and Alhaji Bashir Hadeja.
The Governor is expected to return to the country along with the President Immediately after the summit.
It would be recalled that Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle had held a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Alexey L. Shebarshin on 26th August, 2019 at the Russian embassy in Abuja, where Russian Ambassador promised to partner Zamfara State Government in developing major critical sectors of the State economy with special focus on improving Agriculture, Education, Solid Minerals Development and Exploration as well as Health infrastructural development.
