Some Christian and Muslim Clerics after breaking Ramadan Fast

Some christian clerics led by Pastor Yohana Buru, General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna have had a Ramadan breakfast with their Muslim counterparts at the residence of a renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheik Dahiru Bauchi.

The event was aimed at strengthening peaceful coexistence and understanding among followers of the two main religions.

The leader of the Christian Clerics, Pastor Buru said the event which was the 7th was also meant to promote interreligious relations, dialogue, peace, unity, forgiveness and tolerance among Nigerians.

“We are doing this to enhance unity and to promote inter religious harmony and to avoid all forms of ethno religious, political and communal crisis”.

“We are here with our reverends, pastors, evangelists and church elders to meet and interact with top muslim scholars for the breaking of Ramadan fast for peace and unity” Buru reemphasized.

According to him, for the fast 7 years, they have taken peace campaign during iftar to most of Nigerian Islamic scholars, including the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad, Sheikh Ibrahim Yakub elzazzaky, sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as well as to some neighbouring African countries like Niger-republic and Benin –republics, with the aim of preaching and promoting peace and unity during iftar.

He said, every year, over 10 different muslim organizations do invite him for Ramadan breakfast to talk on issues related to peace building.

And that each time, he got the opportunity, he invites other Christian scholars to come and dine and even interact with other Islamic scholars on how to boost Christian – muslims relations in Nigeria

Buru said, Nigeria needs prayers and they have to support her in other to end the insecurity challenges bordering peace stability in the country.

While praying for peaceful swearing-in of the President, the clerics urged him to appoint new ministers that have the people at heart.

Buru also called on clerics from both religions to double efforts in prayers for Nigeria military to contain the insecurity in the country with God’s protection.

Also speaking, Reverend Emanuel Sabo, said “we are a from one family,” Adam and Eve” and worshipping one God, therefore we must join hands in making sure that the message of peace is spread across the continent “.

He thanked sheikh Dahiru Bauchi for given them the opportunity to meet and interact with other top Nigerian muslim scholars.

Responding Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi commended the Christian Clerics for the visit, and prayed for continued peace and unity in Nigeria.
