As Nigeria marks the 2018 Democracy Day on May 29, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @ Your Door Campaign Forum has felicitated with Nigerians, while advising them to be patient with the present Administration, seeing that its days are numbered.
The prediction is contained in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday.
“Rejoice Nigerians, your days of bondage under the people unfriendly All Progressives Congress (APC) draw nearer. We have endured for three years, let’s tolerate them for one more year,” the statement appealed.
The forum decried the continuous daily recording of killings around the country, while assuring that it would all end in about a year from now.
“God willing, by May 29, 2019, we would usher in a people friendly government that would put an end to all the senseless and reckless murders of men, women and children in their sleep, displacing survivors of the horific incidents and adding to the numbers of orphans and widows, from Birnin Gwari to Zamfara, Benue to Taraba, Plateau and other communities at risk of becoming ghost towns, “it stated.
The statement said that all Nigerians who have felt the ‘brunt of this repressive regime that has kept them in perpetual fear and anxiety’ must resolve to do the needful through the ballot in March 2019.
“We would have backed calls for impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari, but we realize that it is not a Buhari problem, but an APC problem.
“Impeaching him would not be a solution, because the APC has a way of spreading poverty and crisis. Little wonder, there is internal crisis in the party with factions existing in 22 of the state’s it holds sway. Such a confused party has nothing to offer Nigerians,” PDP Campaign Forum warned.
The forum argued that in PDP’s 16 years rule, Nigeria flourished in all sectors but is saddened that within just three years of APC, such gains are being turned to pains’.
