Gombe (Nigeria) – Gombe State Police Command, northeast of the country says three suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnaping of a nurse working with the state owned Cottage Hospital, Dadin Kowa, who was abducted in October.

Commissioner of Police, Shina Tairu Olukolu who stated this while parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters in Gombe, on Monday, said the victim, Ephraim Ajuji, a Secretary of the Cottage Hospital, Dadi-kowa in Yamltu/Deba local government Area of the State was abducted on 31 October 2017.

Mr. Olukolu said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and hunters, between Deba and Balanga Local Government Areas, based on reliable information from the public, but that three others were still at large.

He said the suspects, Mu’azu Adamu, alias Dabo 27 of Alkaleri local government area in Bauchi State, Bodori Maifada 25 of Balanga local government area and and Wada Ahmadu 26 of Yamaltu/Deba of Gombe state, all confessed to being members of the syndicate that kidnapped the nurse.

Olukolu said the suspects were helping the police with information to arrest three other members of the syndicate who were still at large.

The Police Commissioner said an AK47 rifle, with 19 rounds of ammunition and the sum of 200,000 was recovered from the suspects.

Other suspected criminals arrested included those involved in house breaking, theft and receiving stolen property, possession of Nigerian currency suspected to be counterfeit, as well as criminal conspiracy and motorcycle theft.
