Kaduna (Nigeria) — This video has caused roar among some Gombe elders who are politically loyal to the State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, to condemn Senator Danjuma Goje. To the extent of holding a media briefing apologising to wife of President Muhammadu Buhari over what they described as embarrassment.

Senator Goje, currently representing Gombe Central District in the National Assembly, is the immediate past governor of Gombe State, who handed over power to Mr. Dankwambo.

In the video Senator Goje, speaking in Hausa language, is appreciating Aisha, wife of President Buhari for condolence visit over the loss of his wife, Yalwa.

While doing that, the bereaved expressed gratitude to Mrs Buhari, for bringing Governor Dankwambo to his residence.

Goje said, since becoming governor, Dankwambo had not visited his residence, even while the late Yalwa (the deceased) was sick.

“He used to be part of this household. My wife was his godmother. For seven months she was sick, he didn’t come. He only called after she passed on. Since we inaugurated him at Pantami he didn’t visit this house.

“I have had series of misfortunes, ill-health, with even a death recorded, but he has not seen it fit to identify with me and my family. He didn’t even call to sympathize with us,” Goje said in the video.

The story of the elders’ media briefing is already receiving backlash from residents of Gombe. Below is a reaction from a reader of the story on AFRICA PRIME NEWS.
