Activities marking this year’s Press Week of the Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists have been outlined
With the theme “Media and the Kaduna State Peace Model: Strengthening Dialogue, Security and Development in the North” the event will be chaired by former governor of Zamfara State and Marafan Sokoto, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari.
The Special Guest of Honour is Sen. Uba Sani, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, while
the Guest Speaker for the event is Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman (Rtd.), former Director of Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army.
The programme will kick off with a Walk at 8:00am on Thursday, 11th December 2025, followed by an inter-chapel sports competition featuring table tennis, table soccer, draft and scrabble at the NUJ premises.
On Friday, 12th December, members will observe the Juma’at Service at the Nupe Road Juma’at Mosque.
The programme will be rounded off on Sunday, 14th December, with a Thanksgiving Church Service at a designated church.
A major highlight of the grand finale will be the official investiture of Sen. Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, as the State Grand Patron of the NUJ, to be performed by the National President of the Union, Comrade Alhassan Yahya.
