Nigeria: Senator Katung Solarises Communities In Southern Kaduna

Jubilations across South Senatorial District of Kaduna State, North West Nigeria as Sen. Sunday Marshall Katung embarks on rural solar electrification of remote villages

Many communities in Sanga, Kagarko, Jema’a, Kaura, Jaba, Kachia, Kauru, and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas, including institutions are beneficiaries of the solar lights intervention.

Special Adviser, Media and Communications to the Lawmaker, Midat Joseph said in a statement that already, some of the solar lights have been installed while others are being installed in various communities – bringing joy and excitement to “our people”.

He described Senator Katung’s intervention as a dividend of quality representation which is making communities more lively and boosting local economy.

“The people are excited that the installation of the street lighting is also enhancing security and social life because people now have visibility to carry out businesses,” he said.

A constituent, Mr. Barnabas Chawai commended Senator Katung for his unwavering commitment to the well-being of the people.

He said, “the provision of solar street lights presents a transformative initiative for the people of southern Kaduna”.

The rural solar electrification project is a component of governance that benefits everyone irrespective of political or other affiliations, hence his delight to welcome the legislator.

Mrs. Bulus Alkali expressed delight at the gesture, saying the people appreciated Senator Katung not only for the solar lights but for constantly identifying with the needs of the people in different circumstances.
