How Kaduna Can Improve On Its IGR – Expert

Expert in the tourism sector, Tobi Bernard Thomas, has suggested ways on how to improve on the Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) of Kaduna state.

He said  Kaduna State government should develop the tourism potentials of the state into the nation’s foremost tourist destination and make the state tourism investor’s most desired investment haven

Thomas , a critical stakeholder in the industry asserted this in Kaduna on Friday while  exchanging views with newsmen
He opined that the sure way to improve on the state IGR is to unlocking the vast potentials of tourism as the financing option for the socio-economic development of the state.
“Tourism can lead to economic development through direct and indirect effects. Direct effects include revenue generation and foreign exchange.
These effects also include the creation of business opportunities that thrive on money earned from tourism or local sourcing of supplies,” the expert explained.

According to him, tourism is a major source of employment or export earnings, having enormous propensity to contribute to the state’s GDP.
He also emphasised that partnership between the government and relevant stakeholders is key to improving the IGR of the State.
