November 11 , 2024 will ever remain an indelible date on some students of the Biraidu Community Secondary School, Abocho, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, North Central Nigeria.
That was when they were presented with N300,000 scholarship by Mrs Amina Osagie under a Foundation she established in memory of her late father and a thought leader In the community, Alhaji Yakubu Onalo.
Mrs Osagie was the Head Girl of the school in 1983.
She had appreciatively promised at an event in the school that coincided with the 8 Day prayer of her late father who was a proprietor Rep. of the school.
The event was the inauguration of the new Principal’s Office which was named after her father.
At the occasion, the Chairman of the committee, Suleiman Dan Tsoho who disbursed the fund on behalf of the donor, emphasised that Mrs Osagie was moved by the gesture to name the Principal’s new office after the late proprietor, hence she initiated the scholarship foundation, promising to make it an annual event.
Dan Tsoho explained that the scholarship foundation was the first in the history of the college and urged other old students and wealthy individuals to emulate the gesture.
The committee chairman appreciated the effort of the donor and prayed God to replenish her for greater service to the community.

Some of the students who were emotionally touched, commended the sponsor for her show of empathy and promised to make use of the money for the purpose intended.
The ceremony was witnessed by the principal of the college and some of the teaching staff.
