Iran says it will carry out revenge for Israel’s strike on Tehran, stating that it is “entitled and obligated to defend itself against external aggressive acts”.
According to Iran foreign affairs ministry in a statement, the Israeli attack was a violation of international law, adding that Tehran “recognises its responsibilities towards regional peace and security”.
Early hours of Saturday, Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Iran targeted facilities used to make the missiles fired at Israel and surface-to-air missile sites.
The Israeli strikes were in response to a missile barrage from Iran at the start on 1st October.
Analysts fear that the ongoing events are pushing the arch-enemies closer to all-out war.
Hamas has condemned Israel’s attack on Iran calling it an “escalation”, and a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a threat to regional security.
Other nations are calling for the de-escalation of the situation.
