Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Mrs Remi Tinibu, has distributed 25kg bags of rice each to over 1,200 physically challenged and aged women in Jigawa State as FG palliatives.
Remi Tinubu represented by the wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Hadiza Umar Namadi reiterated her commitment to champion the implementation of policies and programs that will improve the socio-economic life of Nigerian women.
The grand occasion was held at the Banquet Hall of the Jigawa state Government House Dutse at which Senator Remi Tinubu said, the selection of vulnerable women for the presidential palliatives was part of the broader agenda of “Renewal Hope” designed for all inclusion programs.
“This food palliative we are distributing is specifically meant for vulnerable women, as compassion we have for the group, and we will continue to accord priority attention to such gesture for the groups to have sense of belonging
“Empowering and assisting women is equal to empowering the family and we do hope these palliatives will help the beneficiary families in this trial period of socio- economic challenges” she stated.
At the occasion, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hadiza Abdulwahab said, the beneficiaries were selected in collaboration with stakeholders from across the 27 local government areas of Jigawa state.
In their remarks, the beneficiaries thanked the wife of the president, the Jigawa state governor, and his wife for the kind gesture and promised to reciprocate the love and sense of concern before and beyond 2027.
