RE: SHIITE ATTACK ON FIVE POLICE OFFICERS IN WUSE: TWO POLICE OFFICERS
CONFIRMED DEAD, THREE LEFT UNCONCIOUS
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon our
master and beloved prophet Muhammad, his pure progeny and chosen companions.
2. We, the entire members of Al-Thaqalayn Cultural Foundation, a Shiite Non-Governmental
Organization, founded by Late Sheikh Hamzah Muhammad Lawal (RA) and registered by the
Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, strongly condemn the attack whatsoever allegedly carried
out by some members of the proscribed group, popularly known as Islamic Movement of Nigeria
(IMN), which led to the killing of two personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, leaving three of them
injured and setting three of their patrol vehicles ablaze.
3. While we deeply sympathize with the victims of these heinous acts, we call upon the relevant
statutory authorities to bring the people involved in these atrocious actions to the book.
4. We also reiterate that freedom of belief, religion or thought, as enshrined in the Constitution of our
dear country, is not in anyways in contradiction with maintaining law and order or peaceful
coexistence in Nigeria.
5. At this juncture, we would like to re-draw the attention of Nigeria Police Force, news agencies and
the general public to the fact that IMN is a socio-cultural and politico-religious revivalist movement
drawing its inspiration essentially from Sunni activists but using Shiite face. You should therefore
note that IMN, which its membership consists of people of different beliefs, including Christians and
Muslims, is NOT a Shiite organization. It is also neither synonymous nor interchangeable with
Shiite. As such, you should call it by the name it has given itself – IMN.

That’s fantastic, IMN should be addressed by its name. Stop damaging Shiism that has nothing to do with IMNs barbaric actions
