Urban Shelter Limited has launched a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 200-hectare housing development in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
At Tuesday’s event, Managing Director and CEO Hajiya Sadiya Aminu reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the state’s economic, social, and commercial growth. She expressed excitement about the project’s goal of delivering quality and affordable housing to local residents.
Aminu highlighted that this project builds on their successful partnership with the state government, which previously led to the completion of over 1,200 shops at Kasuwar Barci in Kaduna.
Governor Senator Uba Sani, who was represented by Deputy Governor Hadiza Sabuwar Balaraba, described the 200-hectare project as a significant step in transforming Kaduna’s housing landscape. He emphasized the importance of providing safe, affordable, and secure housing as a key priority of his administration.
Balaraba praised Urban Shelter for its strategic investment in Kaduna, stating, “Your impressive development of over 25 hectares in Millennium City, across both Phase I and II, has set the stage for this new 200-hectare project under a Development Lease Agreement with the Kaduna State Government. Today’s groundbreaking highlights your commitment to affordable housing for underserved communities in Kaduna. You are not only a leader in Nigeria’s real estate sector but also a model of social responsibility.”
She also stressed the need for collaborative efforts to tackle developmental challenges in the housing sector.
