Nigeria: Kanwan Katsina, Bello Lauds Govt. Health Policies As Immunization Campaigns Begin

The Katsina State Government has been commended for various Health policies and programs being implemented in the State

These programmes include immunization campaigns against measles, polio, malaria, and other six child killer diseases, as well as antenatal care services.

The Kanwan Katsina, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara was speaking when health officials of Kankara Local Government paid him an advocacy visit in his palace to discus the immunization exercise in the Local Government with a request for his cooperation and assistance for the success of the exercise in Ketare District.

The Kanwan Katsina District Head directed all the village and ward heads in the district to commence a robust campaign to ensure the success of the immunization exercise.

He also directed Imams in the district to enlighten thier faithful on the need to ensure success of the ongoing immunization exercise in Friday sermon and five daily prayers.

A statement signed by his Media Aide, Sarkin Labarun Kanwan Katsina , Jamilu Hashimu Gora and made available to newsmen, also quotes the traditional ruler as urging parents to ensure that their children are properly immunized, emphasizing the importance of routine immunization and antenatal care, particularly for mothers in rural areas.

He urged his subjects to use mosquito nets distributed to them effectively in thier homes to prevent malaria, cautioning against the misuse in farmlands.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara also expressed satisfaction with the new centers opened in Ketare District for the distribution of nutritious food to combat malnutrition, and called on the communities to continue supporting government policies and programs for the betterment of their health and wellbeing.
