Nigeria: Women in Jigawa Embrace Family Planning Despite Challenges – Official

Constant Mobilization and offering of counselling women, especially during ante- natal clinics at various health facilities have helped towards the acceptability of Family Planning Concepts in Jigawa state.

A Community Health Officer in charge of Family Planning Unit, Kafin Hausa General Hospital, Uwani Husseini disclosed this to a media team on field assessment tour.

She told the Team which was on FP field trip assessment tour of Kafin-Hausa General Hospital that alot of women have embraced family planning concept through constant advocacy and mobilization.
“We have more than seventy percent supply of FP commodities. We’re Only in decline supply of Tab microgyneny, Inj Niristrate and implanting for about a month now from the state Ministry of Health”

Ealier the Chief Medical Director ( CMD) Kafin-Hausa General Hospital, Dr. Bappa Sani Dauda said despite receiving adequate attention of the state govt through the state Ministry of Health in FP, there is the need for the supply of all relevant components of medication to most health facilities across Jigawa State .

“Supply of adequate FP commodities in our health facilities is very vital, hence we call upon Governor Namadi in making the availability of the FP commodities in our health facilities”

“Again Govt should be focused on providing it’s medical outreach with adequate supply of drugs and medication in rendering improved service delivery for improving health condition of it’s citizenry, especially the down trodden masses”
