Nigeria: Foundation Bankrolls Eye Operation For 600 Patients, Donates Food Items To Vulnerables In Jigawa

The Garkuwa foundation Babura has sponsored free eye treatment for about Six hundred patients in Babura Local government area of Jigawa state

The Foundation also donated fifty bags of Rice, bags of Maize and other food items worth millions of Naira to put smiles on the faces of the needy in the month of Ramadan.

Speaking shortly after the distribution of the food items through Community Based Groups in Babura, the Foundation Chairperson, Hajia Nusaiba Zubairu Babura said the gesture was part of the Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility to better the lots of the vulnerable in the society.

“Apart from the food items our Foundation shoulders the responsibility of overseeing eye surgery and treatment to over five hundred eye patients in Babura General Hispital where some of the patients were operated, and given eye glasses. Hundreds of eye patients were treated of glacoma, and cataract operations and all the operations went on successfully.

She commended the Eye Specialist at the state Ministry of Health, among other Eye Experts from other related NGOs for their collaboration in seeing to the success of the Eye Operations on the 500 Eye Patients in getting back their sight’s deligently after the surgery operations.

Most of the operated eye patients commended Garkuwa Foundation for the gesture, while others appreciated the food items donated to them, saying the items came at a rightful time when majority of them have no food to feed themselves.

Saudatu Babura, a beneficiary thanked Garkuwa Foundation for the palliative, saying that as at the time of distribution she didn’t have any food to break her fast.

She thanked God and Hajia Nusaiba Zubairu for remembering them in this blessed month of Ramadan.

Hafsat Abdullahi, another beneficiary, prays for Hajia Nusaiba and Garkuwa Foundation Babura for coming to their aid, saying they hardly eat to their satisfaction due to inflation and hardship.
