The Kaduna State Government has been urged to, as a matter of urgency, roll out its palliative package for public servants, especially the Local Government workers to save them from further miserable and poor condition of living.
The advice was given by the President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Kaduna State Chapter, Comrade Rayanu Isyaku Turunku, while addressing the newly elected Executives of Local branches of NULGE in the Twenty Three Local Governments of the State.
Comrade Rayanu noted that the current situation in the country calls for urgent and deliberate measures to liberate the workers and their families from the shackles of economic hardership and abject poverty.
The NULGE President condemned the recent attack in Kuriga village, in Chikun Local Government area, where pupils were kidnapped, calling on the State Government and the security agencies to do all within their powers, to ensure prompt rescue of the victims unhurt.
He congratulated the newly elected branch Executives of the Union, adding that their emergence through a peaceful and transparent process is a big success for the Union.
Also speaking at the occasion, the State Secretary of the Union, Comrade Abdullahi Adanu, described the outcome of the Local branches elections, organized in stages across the three senatorial districts and spread for three days, as highly successful, expressing his appreciation to the State President, members of the State Executives and other stakeholders for the support rendered to the State secretariat in organizing the elections.
