Nigeria’s Former Speaker, Na’abba Passes On

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghalli Na’abba, is dead.

The former speaker died at the age of 65 at a hospital in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The deceased’s younger sister, Hussaina Umar Na’abba posted Facebook “To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. Alhaji Ghali Umar has passed away. May God have mercy on you and make paradise your final abode.

According to reports, Na’abba passed away around 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

He was elected to represent the Kano Municipal Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives in 1999.

Na’abba pursued the role as Speaker of the House with the victory and support of other House members-elect from Kano and North West geo-political zone.

He was born into the family of Alhaji Umar Na’Abba, a businessman in Tudun Wada, Kano City, Kano Municipal Local Government on 27 September 1958.

His father was a firm disciplinarian and an Islamic scholar. His father taught him virtues of hard work, entrepreneurship, strong religious inclination, prudence and modesty
