The Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was acting as governor following the intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been sworn in as the substantive governor of the state.

The swearing-in ceremony of the new Ondo Governor was performed by the State Chief Judge.

Aiyedatiwa’s swearing-in followed the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in Germany on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from complications arising from prostate cancer.

In his address shortly after the swearing-in, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa said it was with a heavy heart that he took over the reigns of the governance of the state after the death of his late principal, Chief Akeredolu.

Aiyedatiwa further said that it was a devastating thing for the people of the state to lose their dear governor, adding that; “This is a monumental loss. It is a great loss to me as an individual”

  1. If only people know deeply what life is all about, there will be no trouble whatsoever.
There is nothing as joyful as serving humanity with greater sense of commitment. Putting smiles on people faces is the best and most joyful thing or legacy any leader can leave behind for posterity and remembrance of his existence here on the other side of the world.
Your family will always be proud of you when people pass beautiful comments of your existence before death.
Our leaders should know that serving humanity is the best form of serving our creator.
May the soul of Late Ondo governor rest in perfect peace.
